well for me, i like to use extrmely large ziploc bags. they are by ziploc or hefty, your choice. they’re huge and soft sided. some people don’t like them because they think it’s hard to stack them but it also depends on how you stuff them and stack them. i prefer these over hard sided storage such as rubbermaid but that’s just my preference
remove you clothes in ur closet and select PARTY outfit HOME oufit
selec the clothes that you dont need, too small
clear out wat u dont need. sell them on ebay or donate them.
the ones u wanna keep, u have to organize them in many sub-groups- fancy shirts, dresses, jackets are hung.
divide the shirts u wear often ina pile and the ones u use alot in another pile.
i prefer to hang bags. arrange alot of hangers across the wall of the closet, and hang the bags, according to colour.
shoes, just place them at the bottom
1] go thru everything – get rid of all too small, too big, wrong color, wrong style, or just ugly. [ also throw out 'junk' that shouldn't be in closet ]
Donate everything in decent shape
2] get shelf dividers – divide closet shelf into sections, say [ left to right ]
a] winter hats, scarves, gloves/mittens
b] stacks of sweats or long sleeve Ts
c] stacks of Ts
d] handbags, shelved like books with ends showing
e] summer hats, totes, beach blanket/towels, etc
3] then do hanging clothes –
a] a double rod in blouse/top area will increase hanging space without wrinkling clothing
b] set up a system – left to right – for instance:
jackets/hoodies [ bathrobes all the way at the left ]
blouses/tops
skirts [ buy a multiple pants or skirt rod for each area ]
pants
dresses [ long dresses all the way at the right ]
4] shoes – buy racks to hold 20 to 25 pair – use for ALL shoes, even slippers
5] boots shoulde be stored with shapers in them
Now you can see all your clothing, and see what you need to add [ a new red blouse? a gold evening bag? a navy suede belt? ].
Time to tackle dresser, chests of drawers, and all those tubs…
